ITW Buildex is Australia's leading manufacturer and supplier of self drilling screws.

Established in 1917 (as W.A. Deutsher Pty Ltd), the head office is in Moorabbin, Victoria. The on-site manufacturing facility produces hunreds of millions of self-drilling screws annually, from roll-forming to threading to plating. All fasteners are made to exacting high standards of quality and are subjected to strict inspection and testing procedures.

ITW Buildex is quality endorsed to ISO9002 and is committed to developing modern, innovative products utilising the latest technology available worldwide.

Sales, warehousing, technical service and despatch facilities are available in 8 branch office locations across Australia. ITW Buildex exports to 18 countries throughout Asia, Africa, Europe and the Pacific. Shakeproof is the special products division of ITW Buildex, specialising in offering a wide range of highly unique screws capable of being used in a range of applications in both the construction and General Engineering Industries. It is licensed to produce a full range of trilobular engineered fasteners.

ITW Buildex is part of the world-wide ITW group (Illinois Tool Works), a Fortune 500 company which has over 500 businesses in 40 countries, employing over 50,000 people. Environmental PolicyITW Buildex Australia manufactures metal fasteners and fittings for the automotive and building industries throughout Australasia. It is our policy to be a respected and accountable corporate citizen by conducting our activities in a sustainable manner that minimises the generation of wastes and prevents pollution of the environment.

We will achieve these goals by:

Complying with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations and company policies;
Implementing a continual improvement program that provides for the setting and regular review of appropriate environmental objectives and targets;
Progressively implementing and maintaining, at our manufacturing facilities, a certified Environmental Management System in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001. This will be integrated with other management systems so as to produce the best outcomes for all our stakeholders;
Providing environmental awareness training for all employees, contractors and key suppliers in order to manage processes and materials and minimise the environmental impacts of our business;
Encouraging all employees to develop and adopt innovative ways to reduce waste, energy consumption and to minimise the use of packaging materials;
Communicating the content and intent of this Environmental Policy to all employees and other interested parties.
