ShankGuard is a revolutionary patented design feature specifically developed by Buildex to protect fastener shanks from scratching and scouring. ShankGuard cuts a slightly larger hole in the roofing profile than the shank diameter, protecting it against scratching on the sharp edges of the pierced hole in the metal roof. By remaining scratch free the fastener shank keeps its corrosion coating intact and fully functioning, up to 60% more corrosion resistant in comparative tests carried out in accordance with AS3566.
