Buildex operates and supports a research, development and testing program aimed at ensuring the customer and building owner get value for money from their fastener purchase.
Real World Test Sites
To test the corrosion performance of our fasteners, Buildex has three test sites and use a further four sites, operated by BHP & CSIRO.
These test sites are positioned at known corrosively aggressive locations around Australia.
Unlike laboratory testing, these sites expose the fasteners to corrosive influences that exist in the real world – eg. Chlorides (marine), humidity (condensation), acid rain (industrial) and ultra violet (UV).
Scientific Monitoring
All these sites are independently monitored to determine the level of corrosivity by the CSIRO.
Results of Buildex Testing
Buildex has over eight years experience with real world testing. Many of our products have been developed and improved as a direct result from what has been learnt during the testing.
We also test all our competitors products.
