Hi-Grip is a revolutionary design in roof fasteners that overcomes the traditional problems with crest fixing metal roofing profiles to steel or timber.

When standard roofing screws are placed on top of the roofing profile, an indent area forms around the screw caused by the operator forcing down heavily prior to drilling. This indentation remains around the fastener, even when the roofing profile has been fixed, causing water entry and corrosion of the fastener.

Hi-Grip is a secondary thread located at the top of the shank under the washer face on Buildex roofing screws. During installation the Hi-Grip thread carries the roof profile in an upward motion which tends to straighten or reverse the indent made by the initial penetration. By extruding the metal upwards around the fastener hole it prevents any possibility of water entry.

Hi-Grip restricts over-drilling which leads to ponding or dimpling, prevents the roofing sheet moving down the screw shank when the roof is walked on and grips the sheet to provide a “positive” joint with the washer face.
